Raw Foods Apple Onion Bread

This is a combo of recipes that I found. I figured that if it was good enough for stuffing, it was good enough for bread!
If you like rye...try using caraway seeds in the mix!
A great filler would be avocado, tomato, spinach, and sprouts!
I did NOT add in dehydration time. This is a very thick bread, so it may take quite some time to dehydrate it to your liking.
I estimated that 2 pieces is equal to 1 serving.

Raw Foods Chocolate Pie

This is a sweet indulgence!
I jacked up the recipe, but I am posting it exactly how I made it. I will not add the banana next time because it competes with the chocolate.
*bananas, dates, and bee pollen in the filling are optional*

Raw Foods Cheesecake

The trick to this recipe is to get the cashews ground down VERY FINE.
I did not top this will a berry sauce, but I will post a berry sauce recipes seperately.
I like this cheesecake frozen.
All the nuts are soaked for at least 1 hour.

Raw Foods Meatloaf

This is a great transitional recipe! I got it from berneasebrown@youtube. I omitted the nuts (I forgot 'em) and added some A1. This is more of a mushroom pate..but it is groovy!

I did NOT include the dehydration time as you can also chill this one.

Raw Foods Almost Green Choc Smoothie

How this is "almost green" is that I put only some celery greens in...I will eventually get there!

This should make 4 (8oz) servings.

Crouton Pasta

I got this from Food Network's Giada DeLaeurentis (?)
I make this with whole wheat pasta, but otherwise, leave it unchanged.
I am posting the recipe as she made it...not sure how healthy this is..

Raw Foods Big A** Salad

This salad was HUGE!! I swear I didn't use that many ingredients! If you do use dressing, remember that the zucchini will absorb and hold the dressing beautifully.
For a really filling meal, serve this salad with a chilled fruit smoothie and to make it really decadant...a side of my "NOT jalepano poppers".
I would say that this salad would easily feed 4 as a side even though I figured this as one serving.

Raw Foods NOT Jalepeno Poppers

This recipe was born out of a deep-seated, insatiable craving for jalepeno poppers. I found at the local grocery store a pack of mini or small bell peppers. I took them home and stuffed them with neufenchal (?) cheese.
Man! They were good!

Raw Foods Peach Smoothie

This a very chunky smoothie that can be frozen as a treat. The only thing I peeled was the orange.
This should yield about 3 (8oz) servings..I also did this in a cheap blender!

Raw Foods Chocolate Date Truffles

I got this recipe from AntonyHeaven on youtube.
It isn't precisely like chocolate truffles but it is GOOOD!
I calculated that two truffles was one serving.
Warning! They are highly addictive and can be very high in calories!

Raw Foods "Fried Mushrooms

I got this recipe form Karen Knowler (a raw food coach). I like it alot!

For a cheesier taste you can sprinkle some nutritional yeast over them.

The dehydrator time is NOT factored in.

Italian Beef using a Slow Cooker

This is a Sandra Lee recipe adapted for my slow cooker. It tastes great paired with sauteed onion and peppers and maybe some oven roasted potatoes?

The cooking time is the time that the slow cooker does it's magic.

Reuben Casserole using a Slow Cooker

This is a recipe I got off of a website (can't remember which one) that sounded really good.
*I don't add the cheese in the crockpot as the original recipe calls for. I prefer to sprinkle it on top of the sandwich.*
I included the cooking time for the crockpot even though it doesn't need to be watched.

Quick Whip Pudding

This is a nice dessert that I make upon occassion. I use sugar free and lowfat products.

Cupboard Pie

This is a veggie cleaner ( it will clear out all your veggies that need used up) & uses up all your leftovers. This veggie dish goes well by itself or as a side and gives you a great helping of veggies.

I estimated the basic recipe but since my veggies vary, so does the caloric content!

But I do hope you like it!

This is a straight up Depression-Era recipe. My granny would use it for cooking and I have started doing the same.

This makes approx 10 (1 cup) servings.

New England Maple Syrup Bread using a Bread Machine

Yet another recipe from the trusty dusty bread machine book. My family LOVES this on lazy weekend mornings. I find that all this bread needs is a bit of butter and cinnamon sugar!
If you do have leftovers ( I never do) it makes pretty good french toast ;-)
I DID NOT include the cooking time for the machine. This is for a medium yield machine.

Enchilada Polenta Pie using a Slow Cooker

This is a recipe from my vegetarian slow cooker cookbook.

I love using my crockpot whenever possible, especially in the summertime!

I omitted the beans (15oz) and the black olives (2 T) because some members of my family are allergic to them. The cooking time IS factored in for the slow cooker.

I have never been a fan of popcorn but I thought I would give this a try. I like spicy food (can you tell?) so I added some cayenne.

It was mmm mmm good!

If you are doing to dehydrate it, the recipe calls for 6 heads. Adjust your spices accordingly.

Raw Foods Walnut Pate (Mock Tuna) using a Magic Bullet

I am still tweaking the recipe, so feel free to adjust the ingredients.

To me, it doesn't taste like tuna, but it isn't bad..it did come out witha green color though. I eat this rolled up on lettuce leaves, but spread on flax crackers it pretty good too

The prep time does NOT include soaking time for the nuts.

I gotta be honest, it does NOT taste like fried rice, but it isn't bad either!

Basic Couscous

This is my base recipe. I then adapt it to fit the flavors of dinner.

Spring Roll Dinner

I made this on a whim and BOY was I stuffed! I ate about half of the serving.
I had never made spring rolls before, so I set each roll on half of a lettuce leaf to keep them from sticking together. It gave a very nice crunch.
I had never made peanut sauce before, so, of course, I improvised! The Tomatillo Salsa gave it a NICE kick...I think my toes actually curled and I squealed!

This is a "veggie cleaner". Use whatever veggies you have on hand. I think I got all my fruit&veggie servings in this one meal...This is also a great summer dish.

Banana Pound Cake using Bread Maker

This is a retooled banana bread recipe from a Devin Alexander recipe that SHE retooled from Starbucks...goodness!

***I SAY***
If you have a hard time keeping bananas from family members, a good thing to do is put the bananas in a bag in a dark cool place until ripe (out of sight, out of mind). Trick is...don't forget that you have them ripening! I forgot for who knows how long, but when I remembered, thank goodness they were perfectly ripe!

Any leftover mashed bananas can be used to make a RAW FOODS banana "ice cream"

Spicy Banana Split

I really really REALLY wanted a banana split. So, in keeping with trying to be healthy, I tried this out and I liked it!

The Big E's Fiesta Spanish Scramble

First word of advice..never publish your man's recipe when he is next to you...talk about tempermental artistic micromanaging!!

This is a pretty good and quick scramble but E also throws in whatever strikes his mood :-)

Cilantro Ravioli with Pumpkin Filling

My family loves this recipe! I got it from my veggie cookbook.
When I am too lazy to make the dough from scratch, I use wonton skins.
I would recommend a light white sauce if you need to top it with a sauce.

This should serve 4-6.

Frozen Lemonaide Pie

I retooled this delicious dessert using light whipping cream and fat free sweetened condensed milk. Although it is a NAUGHTY dessert, I tried my best to minimize the damage :-)

Homemade Tomato Basil Veggie HotPockets

Caramel Frap using a Magic Bullet

I make this in my MB wannabe when I crave an iced coffee. It takes less time than you think!

Instead of ice cubes I use my Caramel Frap Cubes recipe...yummy!

I also throw in fruit from time to time to make it less guilty and more healthy :-)

Caramel Frappachino Cubes

I make these "ice cubes" to quickly flavor a variety of shakes, smoothies, and drinks.

My ice cube trays yield 2T per cube. I count one cube as one serving although I routinely use 2 to 4 cubes.

Homemade Caramel Syrup

I was craving a caramel frappachino at 3AM. I made the sauce as a start for my recipe.

Knockoff Nachos Base Recipe

Easy and quick...need I say more?

My family enjoys this quick treat many times during the week. I also throw on leftovers for variety although this recipe is just for the base of the nachos, but please feel free to experiment.

This recipe has also reduced my husband's craving for Taco Bell which saves us $$$!

Seasoned Roasted Chickpeas/Garbonzo Beans

I substituted the EVOO for Vegetable Cooking Spray. These are a bit dry so if you eat these PLEASE drink LOTS of water to prevent choking!

This is a bit involved and takes time but it is worth it. If you have 2 rice cookers that would make this recipe much easier!

DDT's Delicious Decadant Burrito

I was starving and going to eat whatever came in contact with my face. I raided the fridge and came up with this. I hope you like it!
I used one of my previous recipes that I still had left over. I hope you don't mind.
I added the sliced jalapeno and I got such a kick of spice so that is definantly optional for those of you who don't like a lot of spice.
I paired this will about 2 c. of fresh veggies and an orange. I enjoyed this so much I think I will try and make this for dinner sometime.. ;-)

Easy Burrito Filling using a Magic Bullet

I wanted a filling that was easy and quick. Looking in my fridge I grabbed this, that, and the other and voila! Thirty Seconds later my burrito was ready to go!

Homemade Cooked Beans

I make these on my day off with little to no effort. I then section them into 2 cup containers. I throw them in the freezer and have one container in the fridge at all times. It makes cooking up a snap and I like how healthy and frugal (cheap!) these are compared to the canned beans!

Homemade Seitan (wheat meat)

The first time I made this it was a mess! My family asked what was cooking and I said "seitan". Now they joke when I make this that I am boiling the devil because they thought I was saying satan. What goofs!
But practice does make perfect.
When I make this what I will do is have the crockpot going with veggie stock and then once the seitan is cooked and removed from the stock I will clarify the stock. It is all about multitasking!
This does make about 2lbs and I can get 16 servings from this.

*I had a hard time with this but once I used a colander in the bowl the process was easier by far!*

This is a very easy veggie stock that can be made using a crockpot..I am all about easy. I got stuff to do!

Italian Bread using a bread machine

This recipe comes from "More Bread Machine Magic". This cookbook has become my go-to for any bread products!
This is a hard crust with a chewy interior. I have used this recipe using the dough setting and then made rolls and buns out of it. I haven't bought bread since I started making this!

Now don't forget to check your dough after 8 minutes, scrape down, and add water if needed.

Pretend Cinnabon Cinnamon Roll using a bread machine

I got this recipe from Devin Alexander's "Fast Food Fix". That cookbook has kept me from some big mistakes...I made this for Mother's Day and it was a HUGE hit! I didn't get even one!

I was not thrilled about to make the dough the old fashioned way when I have a perfectly good bread machine so I put the machine to work :-)

I would not make these every day at a whopping 442 calories! Did you know that a cinnabon is 813 calories ?? But I think that for the holidays it is ok and especially if you want to impress.

*Personal Shortcut*
I can't measure for anything so what I did was put down a towel on my work surface and inverted a baking sheet to roll out the dough on. It worked beautifully! I also used a spatula to spread the butter and filling. The filling is easier to spread when warm.*

These are some BIG rolls! I think next time I make these I am going to try adding some raisins and nuts or whatever else strikes my fancy.

Tomato Basil Breadsticks using a bread machine

This recipe comes from "More Bread Machine Magic". This cookbook has become my go-to for any bread products!

I purchase a 4oz jar of Red Star Bread Machine Yeast for approx $5 from Walmart and it lasts me at least a month!

These sticks go quick! The kids snack on them and I have even rolled them thin and baked them in pretzel shapes which everyone LOVED! I pair the breadsticks with a light soup and salad. *YUMMY*

I spray the dough with PAM then place in a ziploc bag in the fridge to make later in the week and it has worked out good.

Egg Wash is made from whisking together one egg and one tsp water.

The following recipe will make a medium sized recipe.

1 stick equals 1 serving.

Now don't forget to check your dough after 8 minutes, scrape down, and add water if needed.

Spiced Breakfast Potatoes

These wonderful potatoes are crunchy on the outside and creamy on the inside.

I calculated that the potatoes absorb approx 2 tbsp of oil during frying.

I eat these about twice a month on the weekends with my breakfast burritos before going out to go hiking.

This is a quick and easy mix that is very flavorful.
