I've found most UK salsas to be fairly sweet, which I don't particularly like. So, if you're like me, and want a mild savoury salsa for all sorts of dipping and dolloping, here's a really easy one.
Vegetarian, but not vegan, and certainly not boring. A good burger substitute if you're reluctantly cutting back on red meat. Leaving out the cheese and mayo is all it takes to remove animals completely from the equation, if that strikes your fancy.
Nutrition information includes buns, ketchup, lettuce, tomato, and onion.
Rough idea of the nutrition of a home-made chicken pita. The chicken breast is marinaded in home-made Italian dressing before grilling, but I couldn't sort out how to indicate that with this interface, so that would probably add some unsaturated fat and sodium.
