I set out with the goal of making our own sandwich bread each week instead of buying it from the store. This way, I control what goes in it, how healthy it is, and the cost! I found a couple different base recipes and then I combined and tweaked them. The first batch turned out excellent, having a great sandwich bread texture! It is still a work in progress however, as I would like to increase the amount of whole wheat flour and decrease the white flour.
This is a great recipe for freezer meals! I usually make a large batch like this and then freeze most of them for quick nutritious meals that can by thrown in the microwave later. If you don't want to make this much, just cut the recipe in thirds.
Yummy, delicious, and low fat!!! Perfect for meeting those sugary cravings!
So yummy you won't think you're eating something packed with fiber and vitamins!
Yummy fluffy pear bread (almost 3g fiber per serving!).Would be great as a quick morning breakfast with some peanut butter for protein or as a snack during the day!
Adapted from a BHG magazine to have a little less fat than the original recipe did =)
Saw a similar recipe on the internet and made a healthier version, with a good amount of fiber and a little less sweet than the original.
Forgot the butter in the recipe and used fresh ground peanut-peanut butter-no oil added. They actually turned out pretty good!
A fruit salad with 8 kinds of fruits and a yummy lowfat cream cheese dressing!
Great soup with chicken, veggie's, and kidney beans for those rainy days or when you're feelin' under the weather
