Not supe- low calorie, but at least there's only one cookie so you can't overeat them!
Flourless cookies made with Quaker Oatmeal, Chocolate Chips, m&ms and peanut butter. Made a bit lighter by using light butter and Splenda Blend.
Both boneless and bone-in pork chops will work for this, but be sure to use chops that are on the thicker side – about an inch thick. You can skip browning the chops first, but they taste world's better if you do not skip that step. Also, the red pepper flakes do not add spicyness, but they very much add to the flavor, so don't be afraid of them!
Green peppers stuffed with quinoa, corn, and ground beef (or ground turkey)
Recipe from the back of the Raisinets package. (The recipe had nuts listed as an optional ingredient, but I left them out).
Recipe for turkey burgers made with dried cranberries and herbs
Recipe from Campbell's - modified with lean ground beef and reduced fat cheese
This is the best sauce for burgers - turkey or beef. Its kind of like a Big Mac sauce, but better and not as sweet. I think it tastes better the day after it is made.
Banana Bread made with whole wheat flour and with chocolate chips mixed in. Large serving size and very moist!
Hollowed out kaiser rolls filled with cream cheese, diced ham, and pickles. Best when heated and served warm - the outside gets nice and crunchy and the inside is warm and cheesy! (NOTE: Since this has pickles and ham steak, if you're watching sodium this probably is not the dish for you).
An easy meal for one person. It can also be made without the cheese - it doesn't really affect the taste all that much. You can use low sodium ham instead of canadian bacon or add onions or regular bacon if desired.
Finally - a Turkey Burger with flavor! Mushrooms are added bulk up the burgers and keep them moist without changing the taste.
A chipotle chicken salad filling to be wrapped in a tortilla or stuffed into a pita pocket sandwich. Bread choice not included in nutrition info. You could also just leave out the tortilla and serve the chicken over the romaine
Ground turkey burgers with mushroom and onion and spinach
Pizza that tastes like a loaded baked potato! This recipe is calculated as a meal for 2, but it also makes a great "finger food" for parties. Without substitutions, THIS IS NOT FOR A LOW SODIUM DIET!!
A different twist on lasagna - the filling is rolled up in the noodles instead of baked in layers
Kaiser rolls stuffed with cream cheese, chicken, and spinach mixture. The rolls become very crisp after baking and the inside is warm and gooey and delicious! (Note that the calorie count will actually be slightly less than the recipe states because the rolls are hollowed out and much of the bread is thrown away).
Recipe from Kraft.com except made with skim milk, SF/FF pudding mix, and FF Cool Whip,
Turkey burgers made with green olives and topped with a greek style sauce. The burger recipe is from Food Network, The dressing I kind of whipped up on my own because ketchup didn't seem right
Pita bread pockets stuffed with chicken, spinach, onion, tomato, and tzatziki sauce
Hungry Girl Recipe but made w/ ground turkey instead of soy crumbles. Also added mushrooms and increased the portion size
Cheeseburgers made with extra lean ground beef and stuffed with bacon and reduced fat blue cheese
Texas sheet cake adapted from Kraft recipies to be a little healthier. You can top with toasted pecans as the original recipe states, but I left them off due to family preference.
Chicken and broccoli casserole - Extremely easy to make and very generous portion sizes! However, if you are watching your sodium intake, this may not be the dish for you -unless you plan ahead to include it into your day. You could also sub out the garlic pepper seasoning for a salt-free spice as well).
Minute Rice recipe for side dish with a Caribbean twist. The original recipe called for White Rice, but I used Brown Rice instead
From Eat Better America - A smoky, chipotle spin on chili. Great for cold and snowy days!
Sauce to serve over chicken or shrimp. Can also be served over rice or pasta for a vegetarian dish. Nutrition info is for sauce only.
Easy beef stroganoff made with ground beef. Serve over egg noodles, rice, or toast (carb choice not included in nutritional data)
Nothing beats homemade, but when you're in a hurry or low on ingredients required to make the "real thing", this is so easy to put together and toss in the oven. Because it involves using canned soup, this is obviously not for people who are strict about their sodium intake.
Basic Chicken and Cheese Enchiladas with Red Sauce. Precooked/shredded and seasoned chicken. You could reduce the sodium by using fresh chicken and altering the seasonings and/or salsa
Recipe from Eating Well magazine. Easy Mediterranean style salad. You can substitute white beans or chickpeas in place of the black eyed peas if you prefer. You can also add black olives or red peppers if desired.
Sauce for Mahi Mahi fillets. Mix together and spread over fillet during the last 5-10 minutes of baking.
Bread stuffed with a warm chocolatey/cheesy filling. Adapted from Hungry Girl 1-2-3 Recipe Book. The only change I made was swapping out a little cream cheese in place of some of the ricotta.
Spicy Chicken wrap - Low in fat, relatively low in calories, and very easy to make
Super easy chicken dish! Chicken breasts filled with stuffing and Swiss cheese. You can also use Pepperjack or Mozzarella cheese if desired.
Recipe fro Hungry Girl... Just doubled the recipe, added mushrooms and used low fat cheese instead of fat free
Recipe from Hungry Girl for baked crab rangoon. To shave off a few calories, you can use 2 TBSP Fat Free Cream Cheese instead of using 1 TBSP of FF and 1 TBSP of whipped, but I find that the whipped gives the recipe a little more creaminess and a little less sodium.
