Adapted from Hungry Girl Shrimp & Grits recipe from her Hungry Girl 1-2-3 cook book. This has become a new side dish favorite. A comfort carb.

I'm in love with this recipe. I have to have them made up weekly for my go to snack at least once a day.
I'm only adding it so I can have access to it in SP cookbook.
Crockpot Lasagna (Hubby's favorite he doesn't even like the oven style one anymore) Obviously to reduce calories and fat you could use ground chicken or turkey and cottage chees instead of low fat ricotta cheese.
A nice tasty salad.
Orignal recipe came from allrecipes.com. Substituted ground turkey for the ground beef, and added 1/2 cup beef broth because we like ours a little brothy.
This is a recipe that has been handed down thur our family. I have adapted only by substituting ground turkey for the ground beef. To reduce more calories and fat your could eliminate the shredded parmesan cheese, however, I have come to love this recipe as is and I'm not ready to deduct any ingredients at this point. I have also added the sauce recipe I use it is under the name "Red Italian Sauce"
This is the sauce I use over my meatballs. (recipe name on SP is Irene's Meatball's). This can be used on anything obviously. Other recommended uses over pasta or whole wheat hoagie roll for a meatball sandwich.
Great with Tzitki. I make my own using Fage 0% yogurt to keep it low in fat.
