This is an Atkins Recipe. Instead of 4 turnips, I used 2 large and decreased the olive oil to 1 Tbsp, Kosher salt to 1/2 tsp, and used 3/4 tsp of Hot Mexican Chili Powder to give it a kick.
This recipe is an attempt to duplicate the Mt. Vernon Stable Restaurant in Baltimore's special of the day I had. It was so delicious I couldn't stop thinking about it. I used Garlic and Herb low carb tortillas for mine.
The sodium in this recipe came out fairly high. Will have to see if substituting a different brand of sun-dried tomatoes and cheese will help lower it. All suggestions are welcome!
While searching for recipes for GERD and ulcers, I came across this recipe on the About.Com Heartburn/GERD website.
"Traditional alfredo sauce is high-fat, & a potential heartburn trigger. This version is low-fat & easier on the digestive system."
Very tasty so wanted to share!
My mother-in-law's recipe with reduced fat mayo and lower sodium Old Bay Seasoning.
Note: Even with the lower sodium seasoning, these still have a lot of sodium from the crab meat.
My brother-in-law passed the original recipe to me. I reduced the sugar by using a liquid sweetener and Tropicana 50% less sugar orange juice. Fruit pieces are not counted in the nutrition count.
