This is a recipe I took from my Fannie Farmer cookbook and modified to be healthier. It's not super sweet like some cornbreads.
This is a yummy refreshing side dish packed with protein and fiber but low in fat!!!
I adapted a Fannie Farmer recipe to be a little healthier and less fattening. My family loves these! Even my picky son said he likes these better than Bisquick pancakes!
You could use all white or wheat flour if you prefer. And all Splenda if you're watching your sugar.
My mom sent me this recipe from some magazine. I modified it to save increase protein & fiber while reducing calories, reduced the fat by nearly 40% and saved almost 90% in cholesterol.
If you like Buffalo Chicken Wings, you'll love this! It's all the yumminess in a dip! This is a great potluck or party item! I get raves everytime I make it.
It is really great with tortilla chips or fritos - but not real healthy. I try to serve it with celery sticks and pita chips or baked tostitos.
