Spicy Black Bean and Lentil Soup

My heart was set on black bean soup but I realized my black beans were actually black beluga lentils. I added 2 19 oz cans of black beans close to the end of cooking and it actually turned out pretty good.

Beef & Cabbage Soup (2c serving)

I used up some left over pot roast beef and whatever veg I could find in the fridge. Turned out pretty good, I'll freeze servings and take it for lunch.

My favourite cereal (1 cup serving)

This is a mixture of Kashi Go Lean Crunch cereal, which I find too sweet (and higher cal), and Kashi 7 Grain Puffed cereal, which has no sugar added and reminds me of the big bags of puffed wheat and rice my Mom used to buy when I was a kid. Loved that stuff! Mixed together you get all the flavor without the need to add any sugar.

Cabbage Roll Casserole (1 1/2 c serving

Lazy way to get the taste of cabbage rolls.

Ranch Dressing - Lo Fat

This is so good you will lick the bowl and it's thick enough and lo cal enough to use as a dip. Makes 2 c or 24 1-T servings at 28.6 cals per serving.

Madras Chicken Curry with Vegetables & Chick Peas (Makes 8 1c servings)

Calorie calculations are based on 1 jar of Patak's Madras Cooking sauce.

Homestyle Beef Barley Soup

This is real food made from scratch and using the best quality ingredients available. It takes some time but is well worth it.

Fajita Chicken Wraps

These turned out really good. I used Dempsters, Ancient Grains Tortillas for the extra fibre. If using other toritllas adjust recipe accordingly.

Curried Lentil/Vegetable Soup with Ham (1 1/2 c)

This is a nice change from split pea soup.

Committee Salad (dressing only per 1T)

Absolutely delicious salad that can be served alongside any main dish or just add saute'd chicken or prawns for a fabulous meal. The calorie calculation is for the dressing only but I have given the ingredients for the rest of the salad so you know what is in it and you can calculate your calories depending on how much you would like to eat.

I've taken the main ingredients of cabbage rolls and turned them into a thick and filling soup.

Chicken Barley Soup

Nice thick and chunky soup.

Ceasar Salad Dressing 1T serving

Not your "classic" dressing but it is very good. Quick and easy to make it definitely beats store bought.

Chicken Minestrone Soup

I started out making lentil soup but I had a couple of chicken breasts out and I didn't want to cook two meals. Voila, Chicken Minestrone - not exactly Italian but very good none the less.

Real comfort food for days when you just can't look at another salad.

Nice rice side dish - just for a change.
