YUMMY!
this is sweet/tart dish. lots of pucker power. my Grandma Hall used to always make this for the holidays, but i think it is great every day!
my go to breakfast mix-up. i top this with a half a cup of lowfat yogurt, yummy. add a bit of fruit to it and go!!
the original recipe used Ziti, but it is hard to find around here, so i use Penne. also, the original recipe called for 32 ounces of ricotta and 6 cups of mozzerella. no chicken. and 16 ounces of sauce.
this is a good lower calorie version of that recipe, and topping each serving with an extra spoon of spagetti sauce, you wont notice that you have missed out on all of that fat!
my family LOVES this recipe!
you can fill these with what ever you want. if it is something sugary, watch out for burns. the filling melts and gets really hot!
My Grandmothers Strawberry Jam cake with carmel icing. you can use your favorite jam, in my family, we stick with Strawberry.
we always called this goulash as kids. i have also heard it called slumgullion. Mom used to make this with ground beef. i make it with lean ground turkey.
