This is the full sugar version of the cherry pie filling salad. If you make 1/2 cup servings, cut the nutritional info in half.
I developed this to go with Black Bean Patties. Since craisins and crystalized ginger do have sugar, this recipe is not quite Daniel Fast legal, but close. I guess you could substitute fresh/frozen cranberries and fresh ginger.
Since Daniel Fast Friendly recipes were hard to find, I worked out a few of my own. We actually used this to stuff bell peppers first and liked it so decided to see if it would work in patties.
Looking for Daniel Fast friendly recipes tends to be a bit of a challenge, so I have developed some of my own. Here is a filling "legal" version of a classic.
This is a vegan recipe, compatible to the Daniel Fast. It was hard to find recipes so I have made up a few. This is one that we really liked. We agreed it would be good with walnuts added.
I know there are already several recipes with this name, however, this version is vegan friendly and is okay to use on the Daniel Fast. Very tasty - something different
I adapted this recipe a little from the Daniel Diet but it is still "legal" on the Daniel Diet. Recipe calls for green beans and zucchini. It also calls for fresh tomatoes. This is a very pleasing combination.
We adapted this recipe from a recipe submitted to the Kansas City Times by the American Royal Dairy Princes back in the mid 1970s. We like this fudge because it doesn't seem so excessively sweet and we can justify that it is good for us because it has cheese in it. LOL
You can make up a batch and freeze them, taking out just what you want for a meal.
Versatile mixture of lean ground beef and vegetables that can be served in a bun, over rice, over a baked potato, or your favorite pasta. Includes a full seving of vegetables. A great dish to make two or three times what you need and freeze a batch or two for later.
This is a deliciously wicked dessert - not one you want to have often, but worth the extra calories for something special.
We cut out more than half the mayonnaise and then used the lite version to cut down on the fat. We used regular home baked ham leftovers, so the fat content is higher than if you would use a low-fat ham.
I have used this recipe during my children's growing up years but haven't made them in several years This a little different because mine used an 18 oz jar of peanut butter and a small round box of oatmeal. I'm looking for my recipe.
This has been a favorite family recipe for at least 30 years. You can add whipped topping, if desired, but we like it just as well without it.
Keep some on hand for a quick, healthy dip to go with 100% whole wheat pita, or veggies. It can also be used to spread on crackers or as a sandwich spread in place of mayonnaise.
Add your favorite seasonings to make it Tex Mex or Mid East. Serve with chicken or fish. We often add an ounce of cheese.
Please note that the sodium count is off - when I put this in my "Master Cookbook" program, the other counts are close but the sodium count is 400 mg lower than the SP count.
