This is a tart and sweet dessert. I served it with slow-churned reduced-fat vanilla ice cream.
I have a large family and so when I bake these I always double the batch. The only thing is I do not double the baking soda, salt, or amount of chocolate chips. I am amazed that these are only 80 calories each.
I only substituted the applesauce for the oil. The original would be 9 grams of Fat and 2g of SatFat.
These burgers are amazing! Add pepperjack cheese and guacamole for extra kick! Yummy.
This is exactly how I made this today. These ingredients are what I had on hand. Normally I use Hunt's Traditional Spaghetti sauce or I add little cans of plain tomato sauce to add volume. I also normally use a can of canned chili beans (undrained) , that reduces the need to use chili powder or at least as much as I did. I only used the can of blackeye peas because I accidently bought them. Waste not, want not.
We ordered a Veggie Lovers Pizza from Pizza Hut with chicken and NO CHEESE
I make this with the Grill Mates marinade. It is awesome. sometimes we will have it with a side or as a sandwich. Yum!
