Recipes I've Shared:
this is a hearty, protein filled, rib sticking breakfast. It is designed to be an analog to biscuits with sausage gravy, granted it does not match its creamy butteryness but I like it
This is a nice rib-sticking creamy pasta dish that I made to try to satisfy that craving for a salty, creamy alfredo, without the 1,800 calorie price tag. Please note that this dish is still roughly 550 calories per serving (hey, each serving contains 1/5 of a pound of regular pasta, I'm not a magician). The creamy, cheesy flavor and texture of the sauce is created through a combination of cream of mushroom soup, canned tomatoes and eggwhites added at just the right time.
This is a very tasty, portion controlled filling breakfast. I really enjoyed this and it definitely tasted far more caloric than it was. It seems fairly balanced, and presented very nicely on the plate.
This is a nice lively dish to mix things up, and quick to cook. A little calorie dense, but what the heck, its a party right?
This is a slow and difficult, but dish that produces a large amount of juice which is great for jazzing up large amounts of greens like broccoli. I have even used the juices it produces mixed with vinegar as salad dressing.
This is a surprisingly delightfully tasty dish, for how health concious it is. I often try to remake my favorite old dishes in a healthful way, and usually they turn out miserably, but this one was pretty good.
Another nice, low calorie breakfast omellette long on flavor, especially umami. Combine this with a piece of toast for carbs, and you have yourself a 300 calorie breakfast that will keep you full until lunch
This is a nice, rib sticking, Chicken and Squash stir fry. It makes the same large portions you are used to finding in my recipes, however, this main dish has a slightly higher per serving calorie range than normal at 314. This is fridge stable for roughly a week, and is great to come home to on those days where you do a long hike and come home famished.
This is a delicious omellette designed to make use of some of my marinated chicken breast. It takes about 15 minutes to make and has a rich, complicated flavor, is very filling, and only 261 calories! The recipe makes two servings, but you can halve it to make one. On this recipe it is important to let some of the ingredients burn a bit in the pan more than you might be comfortable with that darkening is what produces the rich flavor. You will definitely ruin a couple omellettes before you get the hang of it if you have never tried it before, but it is worth figuring out.
Nice filling omelette I am entering so I can track it more easily
This is a fantastic, incredibly flavorful, low calorie, low fat recipe that I use as a replacement for fried chicken. It comes out crispy, crazy moist, and unbelievably flavorful. It takes a little more prep work than my standard chicken recipe, but I like it for dinner parties where you normally put some extra effort into the preparation of food. Additionally a VERY large portion is only 200 calories
If you enjoy melt your face off food, you have landed on the right recipe. This is my own special blended sauce, and it is very versatile. It goes well on many things, and I use it as a hotsauce, marinade, flavor injector, etc. You need a food processor or blender to make it right and for gods sakes WEAR RUBBER GLOVES WHEN HANDLING HABANEROS
This is another installment of Gregs gigantic portions with low calories. A 381 calorie breakfast omelet that I doubt the majority of you folks could finish is one sitting.
This is a quick, dirty, filling, and nutritious dinner that is easy to throw together in under ten minutes (if you keep precooked chicken breast in the fridge like me) and is very satisfying.
This is a giant, salty, delicious omelette that I created to satisfy my cravings for one of my favorite breakfast from my old life: irish eggs benedict. This omelette tastes salty and meaty and seriously satisfies my hunger without blowing my calories or cholesterol ranges. It also takes less than 20 minutes to prepare (if you keep cubed precooked chicken breast around)
This is a tasty and complex chicken chili bean soup. I will not call it chili because it really isn't a chili, but I make it VERY spicy and the flavor and texture is similar to chili. This is the first time I've made it, so we shall see how filling it is.
I made this recipe as a practice run for a "game day" breakfast to eat that will fuel you for a day of athletics! There is a balance between carbs, fat, protein and taste, and it should keep you and your sweethearts engine running at LEAST until lunch, while still remaining well within calorie ranges
This is a delicious and filling salad I threw together from leftovers that I liked soooo much I needed to remember it.
This is a salad I threw together to make a kosher for passover dinner that was so good and filling I had to record it.
This is a delicious and incredibly simple recipe for delightful crispy baked chicken. Please resist the urge to make this with boneless skinless until you have tried it with bone and skin intact at least once! I feel the flavor is greatly improved, though I almost exclusively eat BLSL breast for my protein otherwise.
I really love hummus, i like the taste, texture and everything about it: except how much calories and fat it has. I endeavored to make a spicy version of hummus that was low in fat that I could use to supplement my protein input without blowing my caloric "budget." and this is the second revision. Where normal hummus is roughly 166 calories and 10 grams of fat for a 100 gram serving, this version is roughly 88 calories and 2.8 grams of fat. Please understand this is NOT hummus, but fulfills a similarly shaped hole in my nutrition.
This is another recipe I developed to make my mini-meals to eat 5 times a day. I find eating so often makes me feel much better, have more energy and consumer fewer calories.
This is an incredibly basic chicken breast recipe but it comes out pretty consistently tasty and is really easy to make.
I cook a lot of chicken in batches and sometimes I have some baked chicken breast that is getting a little old. This little soup is a tasty way to deal with extra chicken. This filling curry soup is KICK YOU IN YO FACE spicy. I enjoy very spicy food, so if you want less heat, i would reduce the red pepper flakes first to keep the flavors in balance.
Sometimes you just feel like eating greasy food, and this kind of make you feel that delicious tang of vegetable oil, meat and vinegar, with a delicious refrishing twist. A cabbage based salad with a heavy dose of spicy chicken and tangy italian dressing, this heavy eating hard crunching salad will fill you up right, feel much more caloric than it is, and keep you full for a long time.
This is another installment of cheap quick things to make with preshredded storebought veggies. All of these recipes should take less than 5 minutes to make, and have a very large satisfying volume with low calories
This is a fantastically filling ultra low calorie massive pile-o-food. I use this dish to fill me up without packing on the pounds.
ground turkey and rice, with frozen broccoli and enough hot pepper flakes to destroy a small village
This is an incredibly easy and delicious recipe that you can whip up with less than 10 minutes of work while cracking wise with your chums. It takes less than 30 minutes to cook after that. TREMBLE BEFORE ME PUNY HUMANS!!
