Good just as a snack or a mixture that can be used in Oatmeal or in vanilla ice cream.
Was trying to think of a quick, tasty lunch & came up with this idea. I wasn't sure if the curry, Old Bay, & Creole mustard would be good together but I personally really liked it! It gave it a bit of heat & LOTS of flavor, but did not over-power the Tilapia.
This is a lighter version of the classic Manicotti dish. Amazing what can be done with ground turkey!
Our favorite Christmas cookies handed down from my Mother. I will always think of her when I eat these. These are melt in your mouth good & are GREAT with a cold glass of milk.
From start to finish this recipe may take quite some time but is well worth the time & effort for this mouth-watering Ravioli. There really isn't anything like Homemade!
Great cooked in pasta sauce, or boiled to cook then fry in a pan of butter & olive oil (to raise the smoking point) like pierogis.
This is a very traditional fresh egg pasta dough. It does not contain olive oil or water. When you cook it, it will be very light. You could make lasagne sheets, or you could make fettucini, so cooking times will be different.

A quick & easy side dish that my family always made to complement a number of dishes & great served with almost any kind of meat - roasted pork or chicken are my favorites.
A lighter version of a yellow squash casserole that my sister made, yet just as buttery & cheesy & hot delicious as the original.
An original family recipe that my family always threw together to use for all that good New Orleans style seafood. Also used in Shrimp Remoulade (salad)
A hearty, fulfilling soup chunked full of veggies. Fixing this is less involved than it looks, more prep work than anything, & well worth the time. Great for a bone chilling day or just for a taste of wonderfully satisfying soup.
My husband was born & raised in Maryland & makes the best crab cakes around. And that comes from me, who was born & raised in New Orleans. They not only taste good but you can actually taste the crab - not like alot of other recipes which add a ton of filler.
The servings may be a tad off since I had to approximate the different serving sizes since he made all three versions of this recipe, & I wasn't going to follow behind him with my scale bugging him to weigh everything. LOL.
So, if you see something not quite right, please let me know. What I'm absolutely sure of... these were delicious! (mine were oven baked).
Enjoy!
Yummy Garlic Bread, topped with a light layer of shredded cheese then toasted to a beautiful golden brown. Great to eat alone or to sop your favorite sauce.
Take your pick... Delicious, Delightful, Decadent, Rich, Smooth, Irresistible. It's so good you'll be tempted to eat it by itself. Best served over pork or chicken.
The first time my husband made this sauce to go over roasted pork slices for our first anniversary, he asked me to taste it. The running joke now is he had to fight the spoon from me to keep me from eating it straight out the pan, it was THAT good. Don't tell him but it WAS!
Nawlins style Red Beans & Rice.
AI-HEEEE, Dis Some Good,Yeah, I Garontee It!!!
Mais, yeah, sha!
A nice hearty chili that will warm you up on one of those snuggly chilly evenings.
This soup is one that all seafood lovers will enjoy. It's smooth, rich flavor warms you to the core & tantalizes your tastebuds. The broth itself soothes & gives you that warm home feeling of comfort. It's one of our favorites. Hope you all enjoy as much!
bouil·la·baisseR>[bool-yuh-beys, bool-yuh-beys; Fr. boo-ya-bes]
–noun
a soup or stew containing several kinds of fish and often shellfish, usually combined with olive oil, tomatoes, and saffron.
This soup comes out silky & smooth. It's one you'll always want that next bite as it tantalizes your tastebuds with that slight hint of curry.

For throwing this together just to try something new, I do have to say it came out VERY nicely. And for my husband to say it was great, well, you can't beat that. He LOVES to cook. I sometimes think it's his first love. LOL.
My sister baked me a loaf of this bread so I would have something sweet to eat & not feel deprived while they ate their sweets. It came out wonderfully!
Simple combination of my favorite raw mix. It's really hard not to sit & munch, so I normally measure out servings (1oz. each) into individual snack bags.
Handy & quick to grab if on the run or keep in your purse just in case you need a quick snack, or have as an alternative to unplanned temptations.
What makes this recipe Authentic, you ask? That's because this NewOrleans girl learned early how to make Gumbo & how to make it right.
This is a lower fat version of Chicken Gumbo. It's still very good although not as silky as the regular version, due to the lower amount of roux.
Still well worth the time to make!
I was trying to come up with a new recipe for Summer Squash & got this idea from one of the Zucchine dish recipes. I've tweaked the recipe to fit in the ingredients I wanted.
I was VERY happy with the results & both my husband & I are adding this as an all time favorite!
The aroma of these baking fills the house with a sweet, Autumn feeling. Kick back while you munch on a slice, just enjoying the time out from your normal hustle & bustle of the day.
Due to a lack of time before my husband had to leave for work (he works evenings), I wanted to come up with a dish that would take as little time as possible to prepare but something that would be tasty & different than what we normally eat. It also had to stay within the calories that I'm alloted. The only thing different I'll do the next time I make this is use Smart Balance spread instead of butter.
I wanted to come up with a low-fat, low cal, version of a Chicken Salad that would also be satisfyingly good. I think this came out pretty nice, if I do say so myself. Well, at least, I thought it good. LOL.
Hope you all will enjoy it too!
All feedback would be much appreciated.
Quick easy dessert, similar to a WW recipe. Adding to my own recipes just to calculate the nutritional values.
A hearty, delicious soup that warms not only the body but also the heart. Best when shared with family or good friends on a cold winter night.
This was one of my Mom's favorite soup recipe's. She & my father loved to throw get togethers with friends & she loved to cook for them & shared this & many other favorites. She always made everyone feel at home.
