Recipes I've Shared:
Just sweet potatoes, oil and salt, roasted in the oven 'till nice and tender. Great side. 3 servings per recipe.
A mild, simple chili, great for comfort food. 1 serving = 1 cup
You can always make substitutions for types of ingredients, I just put what we use.
Not low calorie, but good ingredients and a great side for soups and stews. A nice treat every now and again. 1 serving would be 2 large popovers. Recipe makes 6 popovers.
A chicken dressing made with Patch Johnny Cake. Not low calorie, but good and hearty. Prep time will be much longer if you're not using already prepared cornbread, chicken and stock. This makes 2 large servings.
A simple pizza crust with no frills. Great for pizza, cheese sticks, etc. Makes 3 crusts, 8 servings each crust for a total of 24 servings for the recipe. These crusts freeze well.
A thin patty of corn and water, fried in a pan, buttered and served hot. Simple, souther, delicious!
A simple eggplant side dish for the summer season. We use smaller eggplants, so one 3-4" round, 1/2" thick would be a serving.
This is a cornbread recipe that uses no sugar or wheat flour. Baked in a bread loaf pan, 1/4 of the loaf is considered a serving at the Patch.
Adapted from a white flour recipe, to be used as muffins. Very filling.
A variation on a recipe from the book, The Cracker Kitchen. I'd say this makes 3 large servings.
A lightly sweet cornbread. Not lowfat or anything, just a good side for dinner.
A simple seasoning good for meat, veggies, grains, etc. Handy to have on hand.
