Need to make multiple meals at once? Throw this in the crock pot on day one, then use the leftovers as a base for a Shepherd's Pie the next day.
Literally 3 ingredients to get your meal started-add whatever veggies you have handy. 1 15 oz. jar of Classico Alfredo Light, 3 cups dry penne, and 1 pound of chicken thighs (just what I had on hand tonight!).
1 lb. ground beef. 1 medium onion. 5 low sodium beef bullion cubes. 2 lb. bag of frozen mixed vegetables. In a crock pot!
Take 1 box of Hamburger Helper Mexican Crunchy Taco and add ground beef, milk, black beans, green beans, and instant rice to feed a family of 4.
Using the Bear Creek "Darn Good" Chili Mix with ground turkey and adding a can of Hunt's Seasoned Diced Tomato Sauce for Chili.
This recipe literally has just chicken breasts, chicken bullion, frozen chopped onions, a bag of frozen mixed vegetables, and instant rice in it. I also added some Mrs. Dash Garlic and Herb to season it. And it uses the crock pot.
As packaged, just with ground turkey rather than beef.
Grab from your pantry/fridge and make ahead of time
Want to make that box of hamburger helper last for 2 meals? (I put half of this recipe into single servings and freeze them for lunches) By using ground turkey and adding fresh mushrooms and extra noodles when cooking it the first time, you end up with a meal that reduces the total fat and increases the total protein per serving. Plus it makes the box go further. Warning: adding the extra ingredients dilutes the flavor, so if you like a spicier meal you might need to add some chili seasoning. But kids love the blander taste!
Dump it all in the crock pot in the am... cook all day on low. No need to brown the meat first.
