Our family got this recipe from an Irish lady who lived across the street from us. She said that her Irish bread was "the real thing" because it wasn't made with baking soda. She was “right off the boat” from Ireland. She said this was the only bread she ever made - and that she made two loaves every day. It is excellent toasted with butter. It is also .a little better the second day after the bread has firmed and the caraway has blended in.
Though it is not "diet friendly" it is our family tradition so I had to count it. I thought I'd share it with others because it is worth the calories! Enjoy!
This is from McCormick Seasons blend package, but all the ingredients are here so you can make it on your own. I lowered the sodium by using less than it called for and Salt Sense. Since flour tortillas vary in size and calories / fat I did not include them in the ingredients. You will have to add them depending on what kind and how many you use. Enjoy!
These muffins are packed with goodness but low enough in values that I can eat two for breakfast or one for snack. Enjoy!
These make the word "Bran Muffin" sound good! You have to use All-Bran Cereal - this is the twig looking kind. The base of this recipe was on the box.
