My boyfriend is Ukrainian and grew up in Kharkiv, where fresh foods and soups - especially Borscht - are staples. And his mom is an amazing cook!
I spent a month and a half in Ukraine and learned a few dishes from her that I am tweaking at home to reproduce the flavor.
Here is my Ukrainian Borscht recipe - it is boyfriend approved.
Serve topped with a dollup of sour cream for an authentic experience! Yum!
This is by far the best and tastiest Cream of Leek & Asparagus I have ever tasted and one of my staples when hosting dinners. People love it and I always get rave reviews!

This is a yummy snack that everyone will absolutely love! It is a clean recipe and can be served alone, with tea or along side a protein shake.
I made this recipe many times and always make it for my valentines day dinner because it's made with hearts - so I nick-named it 'Love Salad'. :) And my man falls in love with me everythime I make this.
Make sure you rinse all the ingredients and you will knock off over half the sodium content (nutritional values shown with ingredients not rinsed).
I've been making this with avocados since it was suggested by another member. Even better!
