Love this meatloaf! To Snevil1, they goofed on the calories because this recipe makes *eight* servings, not four, each of about 1/4 pound of meat. It works out right that way. Submitted by:

The calories are wrong. You only counted 1 egg, 1 slice of bread, and 1 lb of meat. I redid the calories using 100% whole wheat bread, 1 lb of 93/7 ground beef, and 1 lb of 99% fat free ground chicken and the calories were a little over 400 for 4 servings. Other than that it was tasty. Submitted by:

This is a great recipe. I've been making meatloaf with this recipe for my entire married life...44 years. I've got to say, though, that I would dispute the calorie count for this recipe. If you use 90% lean ground beef, the calories would be closer to 500 per serv, if this is a 4 serv. recipe. Submitted by:

** This sounds good. May try it with a mix of beef and chick or turkey. Like the idea of oatmeal instead of toasted bread crumbs, maybe add mushrooms, garlic etc and maybe make in cupcake pan and use less of the onion soup mix to lower the sodium. Thanks for the ideas 00107 Submitted by:

Wonderful recipe! Is there a way to cut down on the high sodium for someone with high blood pressure? Submitted by:

I'm new to this site but I make this meatloaf all the time. I feel wonderful knowing that I make the same meatloaf at a calorie counting rating. I now use turkey ground beef instead for regular ground beef. Thanks for sharing it's a wonderful meat loaf. Submitted by:

My Mom used to make this but only with the Onion Soup mix and hamburger. I still loved it but adding the extra ingredients gave it the zing I really have liked in other meatloafs. I got 7 servings out of the loaf, lowering the nutritional info to 180 cal per slice. Thanks for sharing. Submitted by:
