Nutrition & Calorie Comments

I managed to make a version of this with only available ingredients (no fresh produce in the house that day) and it was still good! Used low-salt versions of the beans and tomatoes, and next time I will reduce the amount of red pepper flakes a tad. Have added this recipe to my new SP favorites. Submitted by:

The beans were so good! I did double the red pepper and used Rotel tomatoes with chilis since that is what I had. I cooked the brown rice separately. We didn't like the turkey sausage very much, so I'll be looking for a low-fat substitute with a little more umph. Submitted by:

I don't eat rice (I am diabetic and it triggers high sugars). I would love to know if anyone tried this with Quinoa? It sounds so yummy! Submitted by:

LOVED this! OMG this was so delicious. We did use less oil and used roasted red pepper chicken sausage... which cut out about 20 calories/serving. I'll also omit the salt next time. This will be in our regular rotation. Thanks! Submitted by:
