Nutrition & Calorie Comments

652 mg sodium per serving seems like a bit - I generally try for that level for a meal not an entree. It sounds good and I may try making it with no salt tomatoes as suggested. Submitted by:

This is delicious!. I did cut back on the chicken, added 1/2 cup low sodium chicken broth, and tomatoes with spices added. I made it into a soup and can make ahead for work. Loved it. Submitted by:

We like REALLY spicy food, so I made the following changes to the recipe:

Trader Joe's Sweet Chili Sauce (It was the only kind they had) This added another 80 calories to the recipe.

S & W Stewed Mexican Recipe Tomatoes with mild Chilies

1 T of Red Peppers instead of 1/4 (almost too much!

If you want to cut back on the sodium, use low-sodium or plain tomato sauce instead of the chili sauce. Then make your own creole spice mix. You can make it as mild or hot as you want. Google creole seasoning to find a recipe. Submitted by:

This was definately just OK. At first I liked the taste but the aftertaste was awful. I found myself looking for something to put in it to make it better. Fat free sour cream did the trick but I probably won't make this again. Submitted by:

added a few extra spices and didn't use the chili sauce (to sweet and to much sugar) Submitted by:

Sauteed the veggies first and used tomato puree instead of chili sauce (too sweet); added garlic, chili powder, ground cloves, onion and Worcestershire sauce. Also used low sodium diced tomatoes! Served over brown rice. Delicious! Submitted by:

This is good. Lightened up the red peppers and will eat it in a tortilla to keep the carbs down. Will make this again Submitted by:

Yummy but too much sodium. Used unsalted stewed tomatoes. Have never seen low-Na chili sauce - boohoo. I pureed more unsalted stewed tomatoes, lime juice and unsalted chili powder for chili sauce. Submitted by:
