I love making these! I like to just use the egg white to save on calories though. If it's a day where I don't care, I'll use the whole egg. and I like to use a heart shape cookie cutter just to remind myself that I'm doing it all for a good reason! Submitted by:

I make this but I use RAISIN BREAD, believe it or not, it is a very very good combination! Many raisin breads are higher fiber and made with whole wheat. I cut out the center of the bread with a muffin or cookie cutter so that the middle can be pushed out easier. Submitted by:

I love your egg in a basket it is just wonderful although I did use bbq sauce :( have to try harder
fyi - "toad in the hole" is an old english recipe of Sausages in a yorkshire pudding batter and baked - really fattening but tastes great not for a healthy site though :) 		Submitted by:

This is one of my favorite breakfasts to make!! I add salt and pepper to the egg before flipping it. I also grill the bread circles and use them for dipping into the yolk. Mmmmm! Submitted by:

Egg in the Nest...haven't had for a long time. I liked to whip the yolk & egg whites together with a fork, pour some into the hole & some over the top of the bread, then flip over for a more even cooking of the egg. Serve with a bit of sugar free syrup. Submitted by:

I love Egg in a Basket! Such an easy recipe and very low in calories. I used Sara Lee's 45 calorie delightful bread + one large egg, and it's about 120 calories with a spritz of canola spray. Submitted by:

Great recipe. You can also jazz it up by adding herbs and pepper before the egg is cooked. You can also top it off with some turkey bacon for some extra protein. We call it egg in a nest. Submitted by:
