Nutrition & Calorie Comments

Delicious! I cooked the turkey and onions in a frying pan, then put all ingredients into a crockpot on high for 3 hours. I also added a can of chickpeas. I am watching my sodium intake and was able to use "no sodium added" canned goods. Submitted by:

Love it I made this recipe but only added kidney beans and it was good even my kids loved it. Next time going to make a bigger pot so it will last longer. It also was a little less in calories and carbs too. Submitted by:

Excellent It is very tasty. I used no salt stewed tomatoes and 8 oz no salt tomato sauce. I also used lo salt pinto beans and rinsed them to lower salt . I did not notice the lowering of salt in take. Submitted by:

Made this a few days ago and loved it! I only added a little garlic powder and a pinch of salt, because my tomatoes were home canned. My husband and I both loved it! Not sure why some reviews say this recipe is not flavorful...tasted much fresher than the kind from a mix and had some kick :) Submitted by:

My son, husband and son's friend loved it.
I made it from chicken breast, and browned chicken and onions 1.5 tsp olive oil. And YES it's better a few hours later.
I started creating a makeover, but calories and nutrients are almost the same.

How many servings does this make? I can only eat about 1/2 cup of food at a time and have to keep track of my protein...

This is good except the sodium can be reduced considerably by using no salt stewed tomatoes and safeway low sodium kidney beans (95mg) Another brand is 130mg...so check the labels. Also, use Mrs dash fiesta lime for seasoning.....yum

Ok - this is one of my absolute favorite recipes and I make it often - with the extra lean hamburger (1/2 the fat of turkey) Here is my issue: Sparkpeople has thousands of recipes, yet it seems I keep getting the same several ones in my inbox as recipes of the day. I've gotten this one 3 X in a yr Submitted by:
