Whole Wheat Penne with Turkey Sausage Vodka Sauce

Introduction

A quick "semi-homemade" pasta dish that is full of flavor and high in protein. A quick "semi-homemade" pasta dish that is full of flavor and high in protein.
Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

    1 Package Jennie-O Sweet Italian Sausage, sliced
    1- 24 oz Jar Pasta Sauce
    4 oz Vodka (or water)
    6 oz Plain Greek Yogurt
    1 tsp Crushed Red Pepper (or to taste)
    1 box Whole Wheat Penne (or favorite pasta)


Directions

1. Cook Pasta per instructions on box.

2. While pasta cooks, in a saute pan sprayed with non-stick spray (medium heat), brown sausage with crushed red pepper until sausage is no longer pink. Add pasta sauce. Pour Vodka (or water) into sauce jar and swish to get the last of the sauce out, add to pan. Cook 5 to 7 minutes until heated through. Add Greek yogurt and stir well.

3. Add drained pasta to sauce and combine.

Makes 6 servings. Enjoy!
