We use these beans when ever we want to have Haystacks. My family raves over them. One of the good things about these beans is that if you make these beans then add some rice to go with them you have a complete protein with out the fat or cholestrol. Ingredients

4 cups dry cleaned Pinto beans
1 large Onion chopped
1 cup dry TVP (Textured Vegetable Protein) any flavor is fine
3 Cloves Garlic minced
2 tsp ground Cumin
1/4 tsp ground Oregano
3 tsp Crushed Red Pepper
2 cans Tomato Soup (10.5 oz)
Directions
Soak pinto beans over night in water that has about 2 tablespoons baking soda desolved in it. (Drain and rince befor you cook.) Combine all ingredients except the tomato soup to a 6 qt crock pot, add about 3 quarts of boiling water set on high and in 3 hours beans are ready.
