Ingredients

    2 cups flour
    1 tbsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 cup butter (1 stick)
    3/4 cup 1% milk

Directions

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Mix together flour, baking powder and salt in a food processor. Cut the butter into 1/4" pieces and pulse until butter is evenly distributed. Add milk and mix just until ingredients are moistened and dough begins to chase itself around the bowl. Do not overmix! Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and press together.

Fold the top half of the dough toward you. Using the palms of your hands, gently push the dough away from you, then turn the dough a quarter turn. Repeat the fold, push, turn procedure 8-10 times or just until the dough holds together. If too sticky, add a little flour. With a rolling pin, gently roll the dough from the center out until dough is about 1/2" thick. With a floured 2" cookie cutter (or use a highball glass), cut the circles as closely as possible. Place them 2" apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Press together (do not knead) the remaining scraps of dough and cut more biscuits.

Bake for 12-15 minutes until biscuits are lightly brown. Makes 18 - 20 biscuits.
