Gimme Lean Stuffed Peppers

Introduction

No fat, No cholesterol 'beef' stuffed peppers No fat, No cholesterol 'beef' stuffed peppers
Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

    2 large red bell peppers slice in half lenghtwise
    1/2 cup seasoned bread crumbs [use more if desired]
    8 ounces Gimme Lean ground meat style and/or Gimme Lean sausage style
    2 Tbs chopped onion
    Opt:
    2 tsp McCormick Roasted garlic and Pepper seasoning
    2 tsp chopped chives

    Sauce:
    1/4 cup Ketchup
    1 tsp dry mustard
    1/2 tsp brown sugar
    1/2 tsp Wizard Vegetarian Worchestershire Sauce or Worchestershire sauce if not Vegetarian.

Directions

Slice the Bell peppers in half lenghtwise if using small simply cut on top, remove seeds and membranes on both.

Mix the Gimme Lean, bread crumbs, onion and other seasonings under optional if using. Feel free to adjust with favorite seasonings.

Stuff peppers.

Put in oven and bake at 375 for 40 minutes.

Mix the sauce. If making for Vegetarian do not use regular Worchestershire sauce because it contains non-Vegetarian ingredients. Use Vegetarian Worchestershire sauce which can be found in Natural food stores and some grocery stores.

During last 15 minutes pour sauce on and continue to bake. Finish baking and serve hot.

The pepper should be cooked but still firm.
