Mom InLaw Tamale Pie

Introduction

A handwritten recipe that I had to decipher to create. Somethings aren't too clear. A handwritten recipe that I had to decipher to create. Somethings aren't too clear.
Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

    1 Onion chopped
    1 bell pepper chopped
    1 lb ground beef
    salt and pepper to taste
    28oz can of diced tomatoes
    1 can whole corn
    1 cup yellow cornmeal
    1 can pitted olives
    3 tbsp chili powder or to taste
    1 small can of diced chilis (my addition)

Directions

Heat oven to 400, prepare a casserole pan.
Cook ground beef, onion, and bell pepper, set aside. Heat tomatoes in large saucepan with cornmeal till bubbly. Add corn, olives, meat mixture, canned chilis and chili powder. Pour into casserole and bake for 1 hour may top with cheese for additional calorie count.
Makes 6 servings in a 9x13 pan. You may divide further for lower calories.
