San Francisco Chicken

Submitted by: LINJHA

Introduction

I got this recipe from Recipezaar. It was posted by Marie. I tweaked the oil a bit. Soy sauce is high in sodium but worth it once in a while. I don't think the reduced sodium kind tastes good but if you like it, using it here would definitely be healthier. I got this recipe from Recipezaar. It was posted by Marie. I tweaked the oil a bit. Ingredients

4 5 oz boneless, skinless chicken breasts
    4 t olive oil
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    4 T soy sauce
    3 T brown sugar
    1 C ff chicken broth
    1 t cornstarch

Directions

Heat olive oil in a skillet and brown the chicken on both sides.

Remove from pan and add garlic, soy sauce, brown sugar and 1 cup chicken broth.

Stir to mix well, then return chicken to the pan; cover and simmer about 15 minutes.

:When almost done, combine remaining 1/2 C broth with corn starch.

Remove chicken again. Stir in broth/corn starch combination and bring to a boil to thicken.

Return chicken to skillet, coating well.

Note: Sometimes, I add Asian vegetables at this point.
