Stewed Red Beans - Habichuelas Guisadas

Introduction

One of the traditional side dish of The Dominicans luch. Usually served with white rice. One of the traditional side dish of The Dominicans luch. Usually served with white rice.
Number of Servings: 3

Ingredients

    1 can 15.5 oz Goya Dark Red Kidney Beans, 1 1/2 cup
    1 teaspoon Olive Oil, Extra Virgin
    1 tbsp Sazon - Sofrito
    1/2 tbsp Vinegar
    2 tbsp Tomato Pasta
    1 Chicken bouillon, cube
    5 cups of water

Directions

1. Take 1 cup of the beans and put it on a blender with 5 cups of water.
2. Pour the mix thru a strainer.
3. Add the mix with, ingredients and the 1/2 cup of beans.
4. Cover and let it cook until it gets consistency.

Serve with white rice.

Makes 3 servings - 1 cup per servings.

PS: If you don't have sofrito, you can add 1 tablespoon of onion, green paper and 1 teaspoon of mashed garlic.
