1 can (12 ounces) evaporated milk, scalded
1 2/3 c water
1/2 c granulated sugar
1/2 t ground nutmeg
1 t vanilla
1/4 t almond extract
1/2 t salt
4 slices buttered bread
1 1/4 c ripe fresh peaches, sliced, sugared, or frozen, thawed and sugared
2. Set casserole in a pan of hot water and bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes, or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
