Slow Cooker Beef Stew

Introduction

This is a very easy meal and great on a cold or cloudy day.
I was surprised on the calculated info...sodium high. I welcome any suggestions. I happened to just throw this together one Sunday afternoon.....it was delicious.
This is a very easy meal and great on a cold or cloudy day.
I was surprised on the calculated info...sodium high. I welcome any suggestions. I happened to just throw this together one Sunday afternoon.....it was delicious.

Number of Servings: 5

Ingredients

    1.5 lbs Beef stew meat (chuck)
    1/2 a pkg of Durkee Beef Stew Seasoning
    1 whole bag of Green Giant Steamfresh Garden Veg. Medley
    3 c hot water
    1/2 c flour
    2T Olive Oil (light
    2 small onions or 1cup

Directions

Put the flour in a small bowl and add the stew meat a little at a time and cover the meat, then add to the olive oil in skillet and brown.
Meanwhile (microwave) get the hot water and put all but 1 cup into crock pot along with a half a pkg of the stew seasoning. Add the meat and then put the other cup of hot water into the pan from the meat and stir to get all the juices from the meat and then add to crock pot. Simmer on high for one hour.
Add the frozen bag of Gr. Giant Veg. and simmer on low for one hour. Then add the can of sliced carrots and continue on low for another half hour.
Serve with biscuits, crackers whatever you wish.
Makes 5 one cup servings.
