Black Bean & Beef Skillet (5 c. yield)

Introduction

low fat, high fiber, canned beans were rinsed for lower salt. low fat, high fiber, canned beans were rinsed for lower salt.
Number of Servings: 5

Ingredients

    1# lean ground beef
    1 19 oz. (approx. 2.2 c.) can of black beans, rinsed
    1 c. onion, chopped
    3/4 c. chopped red pepper/or green (approx. 1/2 pepper)
    1 t. Mrs. Dash, original
    1/2 t. chopped garlic
    2 c. Classico Roasted Portabello Mushroom pasta sauce
    1/4 t. ground black peppercorns

Directions

Spray non-stick fry pan with oil and saute onions, garlic & peppers with ground beef for 10 minutes or until beef is cooked. Add spices, black beans & 2 c. sauce. Cook for an additional 20 minutes.
Serves 5 (1 cup) portions. Serve with brown rice, whole grain bread & spinach salad.
