Introduction

This recipe uses a slightly stale, leftover french baguette from Panera. We served three slices to a plate and topped with a cinnamon sugar mixture. However, two slices may be filling enough for some. This recipe uses a slightly stale, leftover french baguette from Panera. Ingredients

    Panera Bread French Baguette loaf
    Milk, 1%, 1 cup
    Egg, fresh, 4 large

Directions

Cut stale baguette into 12 1 oz slices (Panera baguettes are already scored into 2 oz sections, so I just cut those in half again). Beat the eggs in a wide bowl and add milk, stirring until combined. Put bread slices in the egg mixture and let soak at least 5 minutes and then turn to put the opposite side down to soak for at least 5 minutes. Prep the flat grill (or other cooking surface). When both sides are adequately moistened, place on cooking surface and brown on each side.

Makes 4 3-slice servings.
