Cinnamon-Apple Irish Oatmeal

Introduction

Oat groats, water, soy milk, granny smith apple, salt, brown sugar Oat groats, water, soy milk, granny smith apple, salt, brown sugar
Number of Servings: 5

Ingredients

    1 1/2 cups (dry) oat groats
    4 cups of water
    1 cup Silk No Sugar Added Soy Milk
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
    2 tablespoons brown sugar

Directions

Bring water, soy milk, salt and cinnamon to boil, make sure it doesn't boil over.
Add oat groats (= steel cut oats)
Bring to boil again, then simmer partially covered for 15 minutes. Stir occasionally.
Check if tender enough; it may still be soupy, but will thicken when it cools a bit. If needed, cook a bit more until desired tenderness.
