Laura's Hummus

Introduction

This recipe came from my 7th grade cooking class, but I've customized it a little bit, and it's really good. This recipe came from my 7th grade cooking class, but I've customized it a little bit, and it's really good.
Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

    2 cloves garlic
    1 15.5 oz. can of chickpeas (2 cups)
    1/4 tsp ground cumin
    1/4 tsp cayenne (red) pepper
    2 tsp dried parsley
    1 tsp salt
    2 tbsp olive oil
    4 tbsp lemon juice

Directions

1. Peel the cloves of garlic, and either chop by hand or with a chopper.
2. Drain chickpeas (save a little liquid in case hummus is dry). Put drained chickpeas into blender.
3. Add chopped garlic and remaining ingredients to the blender.
4. Blend to desired consistency. Add extra chickpea liquid if hummus is too dry.
5. Put hummus into refrigerator, or serve with pitas, carrots, etc.
