Introduction

Ingredients

    12 oz ground beef, cooked and drained
    10 oz bulk Italian sausage, cooked and drained
    24 oz can Hunt's spaghetti sauce
    1 15 oz can tomato sauce
    8 oz box oven-ready lasagna (approx 16 noodles)
    1 large carton fat-free cottage cheese, drained and washed
    2 C Kraft Italian 5-cheese blend (or mozzarella), divided
    1/2 C parmesan cheese, divided
    2 C spinach

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degress.

Combine cooked beef and Italian sausage with spaghetti sauce and 1 cup water.

Combine fat-free cottage cheese, 1 cup Italian blend cheese, and spinach (if used).

Using two 8 x 10 x 3 baking dishes (or 10 x 13 baking dish), sprayed with cooking spray, pour 1/2 can of tomato sauce in each. Layer with lasagna noodles. Spoon the cheese mixture over the noodles in each dish. Layer with lasagna noodles. Pour meat mixture over the noodles in each dish. Layer with noodles. Sprinkle remaining cheeses over the top.

Double cover the dishes with foil. Bake 50 minutes. Uncover and cook an additional 10 minutes.

Makes 16 servings.

This recipe freezes and reheats well.
