Ingredients
* Flour, 1 cup (any kind; nutritional calculations are based on white flour)
* Nutritional Yeast Flakes, 1 cup
* Salt, 2 tsp
* Onion powder, 1 tsp
* Paprika, 1 tsp
* Garlic powder, 1/2 tsp
* Dry Mustard, 1/2 tsp
Directions
Please note, this recipe is from "The Uncheese Cookbook," which has a ton of fabulous and delicious dairy substitutes. Highly recommend!
"Combine ingredients in a jar or plastic container with a tight-fitting lid or in a zippered bag. Seal and shake until evenly combined. Shake again before each use. Store mix in airtight container or zippered bag at room temperature. Will keep indefinitely.
To make 1/2 cup un-cheese sauce:
Place 1/4 cup dry sauce mix in a small saucepan. With a fork or whisk, gradually beat in 1/2 cup water or plain nondairy milk. Work slowly to avoid lumps. Cook and stir over medium heat until smooth, thick, and bubbly. (Optional: stir in 1 tsp oil or vegan margarine. Not included in calorie count, though!) Mix well. Serve hot."
I serve it over a small portion of whole wheat pasta with some steamed veggies. :0)
