Peanut Butter Trail Bars

This is a recipe provided by someone at work, Jason Bauer.
At 12 bars per serving it's a little high in calories but cut in half for a snack or as a meal replacement it's not bad.

Whole oats for fiber, cinnamon controls blood sugar, almonds help promote lower cholesterol levels and reduce the risk of heart disease.

Whole oats for fiber, cinnamon controls blood sugar, almonds help promote lower cholesterol levels and reduce the risk of heart disease.

Number of Servings: 12

Ingredients

    4 cups old fashioned oatmeal
    3/4 cup brown sugar
    1/4 cup light corn syrup
    2/3 cup melted butter
    1/4 cup chunky peanut butter
    1 tsp vanilla
    1/4 cup slivered amonds
    Cinnamon to sprinkle on top

Directions

Makes 12 big servings
Preheat oven to 400 degrees
Mix all ingredients in a mixer until well blended.
Put into a 9x13 pan and pat down.
Bake at 400 degrees for 12 minutes or until brown around the edges. The outside will be solid but inside will be soft.
Sprinkle top with cinnamon to taste.
Leave in pan and cut while warm then remove out of pan once cooled.
