Tuna Salad

Tuna Salad RECIPE

Introduction

Try our version of this protein packed favorite. Try our version of this protein packed favorite.

Ingredients

    • 1 can (12 oz.) tuna packed in water, drained and flaked
    • 1/2 cup finely chopped celery
    • 1/4 cup finely chopped green pepper
    • 2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
    • 2 hard-cooked eggs, chopped
    • 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
    • 3 tablespoons chopped sweet pickle or pickle relish
    • 3/4 cups Miracle Whip (more or less to taste)

Directions

1. Mix together the first 7 ingredients.



2. Gradually add the mayonnaise until salad has the amount of moisture for your taste. Taste for flavor. Add more relish, lemon juice or other ingredients as desired.



3. Serve as is or in sandwiches.



Makes 4 servings.

    I viewed the full nutritional breakdown of this recipe and it had 3 Tblsp Mayonnaise not 3/4 cup so I think that sounds more doable. I definately will try this as tuna is of my favorites. Also, the nutritional value really is great. - 11/9/09

    I make a similar salad but skip the eggs and relish, add shredded carrots, diced cherry tomatoes, and dill weed. I prefer kraft light mayo - 11/7/09

    FYI: The full nutritional information is per serving, and there are 4 servings, so that would be 12 tbls of mayo, which is 3/4 cup. - 5/3/10

    You sure its not meant to say 3-4 tsps of mayo? the relish and veggies will make up for any dryness. I agree with lots of readers - WAY TOO MUCH MAYO! - 11/9/09

    similar to my tuna salad, much less mayo, use lite, use dijon mustard to taste and green onions also use packed tuna. Omit the eggs. One of my favorite sandwichs. - 11/8/09

    Mine is similar, but I skip the mayo altogether & use fat-free sour cream + a bit of mustard, which makes it very flavorful, along with some dill weed (fresh or dried). I would use chives instead of onions, for a better balance of flavors. - 11/7/09

    3/4 of mayo???? Are you sure this is healthy? Just for one can of tuna. Couldn't you suggest half fat mayo! Anyway sounds tasty, but I will try with fat reduced mayo, and may be 2 or 3 tbsp of it. - 11/8/09

    I love tuna salad. Not sure about adding the onions, or pepers but know my son would love it if I do. Make it all the time but without those veggies. Never tried the lemon juice. - 11/7/09

    I have always loved tuna salad and will definitely try this. A lower fat and calorie mayo can always be used. The eggs are an excellent source of protein which should keep us FULL FEELING longer. - 11/7/09
