Everyday Meat Sauce

Introduction

This is good with either spaghetti or spaghetti squash (for a lower calorie option, or gluten free option) This is good with either spaghetti or spaghetti squash (for a lower calorie option, or gluten free option)
Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

    16 oz lean ground beef - cooked
    1 - 28 oz can diced tomatoes
    1 - 6 oz can tomato paste
    4 oz. water
    1 onion
    6 cloves garlic
    half green pepper - chopped
    half red pepper - chopped
    2 c chopped mushrooms
    3 tsp dried rosemary
    2 tsp dried oregano
    2 tsp dried chile flakes
    salt and pepper to taste

Directions

- brown lean ground beef in pan, pouring off excess fat (approx 10 minutes)
- add in onion and garlic - cook for 2 minutes
-add in mushrooms and bell peppers - cook for 2 minutes
- add in rosemary, oregano, chile flakes, salt and pepper - cook for a minute
- add tomatoes, tomato paste and water
-simmer for 30 minutes
-Makes 6 - 1 cup servings
