Summer Marinara Sauce

Introduction

Very light sauce can be done with or without meat Very light sauce can be done with or without meat
Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    6 cans Diced tomatoes (can use flavored one)
    6 cloves garlic minced
    2 lg onions diced
    2 cups mushrooms
    4 tbsp dried basil or 6 leaves fresh
    2 tsp sugar
    salt & pepper to taste
    2 tbsp olive oil

Directions

In a heavy bottom pan put olive oil, onion, and
garlic and saute till onion is clear. Add basil, mushrooms, and all the tomatoes, sugar and
salt and pepper to taste. Simmer on low for
about an hour, the longer the better. Serve over pasta

  • Is it just me or what, but 6 cans (what size tomatoes) makes only 8 servings? Please be a bit more careful in posting so one can KNOW what to use. You know your recipe, but I don't and I am NOT a mind reader. - 2/15/10
