Ma's Corn Tortilla's - (Homemade)

Submitted by: TAMARASART

Introduction

This recipe has been double and tripled many times depending on who we have over for fresh tacos. HUGE hit in the summer with all of the fresh salsa, tomatoes and lettuce.

These can be used fresh hot off the griddle or if you like fried in some canola oil for chips or for taco shells.

Ingredients

1 cup all purpose unbleached unenriched White Flour - (King Arthur preferred)
    1/2 cup Masa
    1/3 Cup + 1 Tblsp Cornmeal
1 Large or Extra Large Egg, fresh
1/2 Tsp Kosher Salt - Diamond
    1 3/4 to 2 cups Water, tap

Directions

Should make about 44 corn tortilla's.

Put about 1/3 of a cup of batter on the griddle for each circle and spreadout. We use a spoon to spread the batter in a circle on a hot griddle. DO NOT use grease with this recipe your batter will not spread out when you use the back of a spoon.

Combine all ingredients together in a bowl and whisk to the right consistency. May need to add a little more water if the batter doesn't spread properly.
