Introduction

This is the type of Mac and cheesethat my mom made my entire childhood. It is SO simple; with only 3 ingredients using layered american cheese and tomato sauce almost like a lasagna rather than the creamy sauce. Number of Servings: 12

Ingredients

    1 lb Macaroni
    1 lb American cheese
    1 15oz can tomato sauce

Directions

Cook pasta in lightly salted water according to box directions; drain well.

In a 9 x 13 baking pan pour a small amount of sauce along bottom and sides of pan, tilting pan to lightly coat.

Layer pasta, sauce, cheese in pan making about 3 layers total.

Top with a small amount of sauce.

Place in 350* oven and bake 30 min - 1 hour depending on how dry you like it. I prefer it moister and bake less time than my mother does.

I will let it set 5-10 minutes before serving.
