Low Budget Stroganoff

Introduction

This is a tasty, inexpensive and quick dish to prepare. NOTE: Rice and/or noodles haven't been included in nutritional calculations, as the recipe is for the meat topping ONLY. Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    1 1/2 lb lean ground beef
    1/2 stick butter
    2 1/2 T chopped onion
    2 T flour
    1 small can mushroom pieces
    1 can cream of mushroom soup
    1 C lowfat sour cream
    1 t salt

Directions

Brown onion in melted butter. Add ground beef and stir with onion until it too is lightly browned. Do not let it burn! While stirring, add flour, seasoning and mushroom pieces. Cook over low heat for 5 minutes. Add soup; stir well and simmer for additional 5 minutes. Turn off heat. Add sour cream.

Serve over your choice of fluffy rice or noodles. REMEMBER, the rice and/or noodles aren't included in nutritional calculations.

Makes 8 - approximately 1 cup servings.
