Chicken cabbage vegetable soup

Introduction

Made a soup with homemade chicken broth - low sodium, and vegetables and a bit of chicken I had in the house. Made a soup with homemade chicken broth - low sodium, and vegetables and a bit of chicken I had in the house.
Number of Servings: 9

Ingredients

    3/4 head large cabbage or one medium cabbage chopped
    One large carrot
    1 large onion chopped
    1.5 teaspoons olive oil
    6.25 cups homemade chicken broth - all fat skimmed off or canned chicken broth, low fat
    2 cups water
    13.25 oz whole wheat pasta (1 box)
    1/2 t garlic powder
    1/4 t pepper - to taste
    add any other vegetables - to taste

Directions

saute vegetables in oil until soft.
add broth and water to boiling
add pasta, cook 8 minutes
Serve. It is a hearty main dish soup.

Makes 9 cups - 1 cup is a serving -- for dinner may want 1.5 or two cups
