No oil hummus (and some flavoring ideas)

Introduction

Ingredients

    1 can chickpeas (240 grams drained)
    Juice from 1 lemon
    2 tablespoons Tahini
    1 tablespoon cumin seed/powder
    1/2 tablespoon paprika (hot is better)
    2 cloves garlic
    Water - to suit

Directions

Put all ingredients (except water) into a beaker and blend until smooth. If the mixture is too thick to blend, you can add a few tablespoons of water until it's exactly as you like it.

Tip: Using a handblender will require more water. A full sized blender can blend without water, or with very little.

If you are looking for flavour ideas, try roasting some red peppers and blending them in too. Otherwise, throw in a few black olives, or sundried tomatoes. Make sure you remember to calculate the added flavouring.

Another fabulous flavour is Lemon and Coriander (Cilantro). But if you are trying this flavour, don't add cumin or it will clash with the other herb.
