Unbeleivably Healthy Pizza

Introduction

Yummy and healthy all in one! Yummy and healthy all in one!
Number of Servings: 16

Ingredients

    Crust:
    1 cup Whole Wheat Flour
    1 cup Rye Flour
    2 TBS Wheat Germ
    2 TBS milled Flax Seed
    4 tsp Vital Wheat Gluten
    2 TBS Extra Virgin Olive Oil
    1 pkg. Active Dry Yeast
    1 cup Warm Water
    1/4 tsp salt
    Sauce:
    1 cup Ragu Homemade Style Pizza Sauce
    Toppings:
    2 cups part-skim Mozzarella Cheese
    34 slices of Turkey Pepperoni
    1 6.5 oz can of sliced mushrooms
    1/4 cup sliced nacho Jalapeno Peppers



Directions

For Crust:
Sift Flours together
In a large mixing bowl combine 1 cup four, yeast, Flax Seed, Wheat Germ, Gluten, and salt. Add water and oil. Beat with an electric mixer on low speed for 30 seconds, scraping bowl. Beat on high speed 3 minutes. Stir in as much of the remaining flour as you can. Turn out onto a lightly floured surface. Knead in remaining flour to make a moderately stiff dough. (6-8 minutes total) Divide in half. Cover and let rest 30 minutes.
To make the pizzas:
On a lightly floured surface, roll each dough portion into a 13-inch circle. Transfer to pans. Build up edges slightly. Do not let rise. Bake in a 425 oven about 12 minutes or until brown. Spread 1/2 a jar or sauce onto each hot crust. Top with cheese, pepperoni, mushrooms and peppers. Bake for 10-15 mintes more or till bubbly.

Change toppings as you see fit, just remember to figure out the calories. :)

This recipe makes 2 pizzas with 8 slices each. 16 servings total.

*one large 16" pizza

*one medium pizza with a regular crust, and one large pizza with a thin crust

*4 medium pizzas with a thin crust.
