Glodena's Slaw

Introduction

Got this recipe from a friend of mine. Got this recipe from a friend of mine.
Number of Servings: 21

Ingredients

    1 large head of cabbage, shredded, or 3 bags cole slaw mix
    1 medium red onion, sliced into rings
    7/8 C sugar
    3/4 C olive oil
    3/4 C salad or cider vinegar
    1/4 C water
    2 tsp sugar
    1 1/2 tsp salt
    1/2 tsp celery seed

Directions

Layer cabbage and onion in a 4 quart bowl. Pour 7/8 cup of sugar over the top. DO NOT STIR.

Bring the last six ingredients to a boil in a small saucepan. Pour over sugar and cabbage-onion layers. DO NOT STIR.

Refrigerate at least 24 hours, the longer the better. Stir before serving. Keeps very well in the refrigerator.
