Oatmeal Brulee

Submitted by: CINDYR457

Introduction

Breakfast treat that is delicious, satisfying, and filling. I don't always use the brown sugar topping especially during the week days, since I pack this in a thermos to take to work. I reserve the brown sugar topping as a weekend treat if I desire it. Breakfast treat that is delicious, satisfying, and filling. Ingredients

    Oats, 0.25 cup
    Oat Bran, 0.25 cup
    Egg white, 2 serving
    Cinnamon, ground, 0.25 tsp
    Truvia Natural Sweetener, 2 serving
    Water, bottled, 1 cup
Brown Sugar, 1 tsp packed (optional)

Directions

In saucepan, combine oats, oat bran, eggwhites, cinnamon, sweetener, and water. Mix well and cook over med. heat until oats are cooked. Depending on the type of oats used, adjust cooking time accordingly. I use thick cut oats and they take a bit longer to cook.

When oats are cooked, transfer to single serving baking dish and top with brown sugar. Place under a broiler, watch carefully so as not to burn the sugar but to melt and form a slight crust. If you have a burlee torch, you can crystalize the brown sugar with this. ENJOY!
