Introduction

Quick, easy and tasty turkey burgers with a kick. Quick, easy and tasty turkey burgers with a kick.
Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

    1 lb ground turkey (99% fat free)
    1/3 cup seasoned bread crumbs
    4 tbsp chunky salsa (use medium or hot for extra kick)

Directions

Combine all ingredients until well mixed.
Add salt and pepper to taste.
Divide into 4 patties.
Spray a frying pan with cooking spray and cook over medium heat until cooked thoroughly (about 10 minutes), flipping once about half-way through.

    I loved this recipe. I skipped out on the breadcrumbs and added more salsa. I ate them without a bun and put avocado and lettuce on top. Instead of the normal Ketchup and Mustard, i just put some extra salsa on top. Delicious! - 2/9/09

    We found the recipe needs more salsa, & the patties crumbled. For us, I've since modified it by adding more salsa, removing the bread crumbs, & serving it sloppy joe style garnished with fat free sour cream spread on the buns, jalapeno slices, & shredded low fat cheddar cheese. Now it's a favorite! - 8/3/09

    wonderful! I use the same thing to make meatloaf, but I sub whole oatmeal for the breadcrumbs...it is delicious, quick and keeps my guys happy. Now I can make it into burgers! - 12/16/08

    This sounds perfectly wonderful!
    BTW - be careful when you buy your ground turkey. If it does not say ground turkey breast leave it in the store. Trader Joe's carries Empire ground turkey and what appears to be turkey breast is NOT 100%. Read your labels!! - 5/4/09

    I've tried this before and they were delicious. Then I used a different ingredient. Kraft Lite BBQ Sauce and made a BBQ turkey burger, still using the bread crumbs. This is delicious too. - 10/22/08

    My husband is the genius behind our burgers, so he made them with our 93% lean ground turkey and his regular array of seasons. I put the salsa on top and ate away - AMAZING! He's jealous he didn't think of trying them :) - 1/12/10

    Very good burgers. My whole family loved them. Including my 3 yo and 2 yo. I added a slice of low fat cheese, and extra salsa for some more flavor. My husband ate it plain and said they were great also (and he's not a fan of turkey). - 8/30/09

    I made these for my dinner tonight. I added an egg white to mine. Since I just cook for myself, I cooked one on my George Foreman grill, and put the rest in the freezer for other meals. This was delicious on a whole wheat bun with a slice of tomato! - 8/13/09

    This was so easy, dinner was on the table in no time and my husband loved them to boot. Doubled the amount of salsa and threw in some oats and flax seed, along with a liberal amount of garlic and a sprinkle of cayenne pepper.     My hubby loves this recipe and that's saying a lot because he's not at all fond of turkey. I usually make these once a week! I used extra med salsa, onions, 2 egg whites plus chili powder, garlic powder, steak seasoning and extra breadcrumbs to keep them together. I also use my George Foreman grill! - 3/3/10

    I added an egg white and some spices and some Worcestershire after reading the reviews and mine came out great! We made them on the Foreman grill.     I used more salsa, added some herbs and left off the bread crumbs. I cooked it on my George Foreman grill and served on Arnolds whole wheat sandwich thins with a slice of garden tomato, lettuce and horseradish mustard. I also make salsa burgers using 1lb turkey, 1lb lean ground beef, 1 cup salsa. - 9/4/10

    I add shredded cheese and some various seasonings. I make up a bunch of patties and freeze them. I live a very busy life so this is nice because I can run home put a patty on the George Forman and in 5 mins have a good dinner. I also use Pepperidge thin buns.
